Expressing an Opinion - 2 ( Meeting people through online dating sites. )

  We can view online dating as a negative point. First of all, in chat rooms, on dating websites and on discussion forums, people meet strangers naturally just like in the offline world and fall in love with each other easily. It is very dangerous to meet the person through online dating sites because he or she may not be as perfect as you know. It is easy for people to be what they want to be through the Internet. In addition, some researches show that online dating attracts criminals. In the real life, we are used to protecting ourselves from being robbed or cheated, but the Internet has provided criminals with new victims who are unprotected because of their unfamiliarity with new technology. Criminals look for lonely people to date with them on the Net. In general, people forget their common sense and give out their credit card information or even send money to them because of the unfamiliarity and friendship. Meeting with the criminals may lead to terrible consequences. It is for all these reasons and more that I believe meeting people through online dating sites is dangerous.

Expressing an Opinion - 1 ( Should the death penalty be banned as a form of punishment? )

  In my opinion, the death penalty should not be banned as a form of criminal punishment. First of all, the death penalty gives closure to the family members of crime victims. Some victim's families may spend years or even decades to recover from the sorrow. Some may never recover. Only a death sentence brings finality to those family members. In addition, it creates another form of crime deterrent. Crime would run rampantly if there isn’t some way to deter people from committing the acts. Prison time is an effective deterrent, but to some people, more is needed. We should have a variety of punishments in order to minimize crime. Finally, it contributes to the problem of overpopulation in the prisons. Prisons over the world all face the problem of too many prisoners, which results in having insufficient space and resources. Each prisoner requires a part of a prison cell, food, clothing, and so on. When you do away with the death penalty, it means that prisoners must be in prison for life. Thus, it only worsens the problem of an overcrowded in the prisons. It is for all these reasons and more that I believe the death penalty should be used as a form of criminal punishment.

  John Adams and Thomas Jefferson were both important Americans in history; moreover, they were similar in many ways. First of all, John Adams was a delegate to the Continental Congress and so was Thomas Jefferson. They also played a crucial role in America Revolution. In addition, John Adams was a signer of Declaration of Independence. Similarly, Thomas Jefferson was a signer of Declaration of Independence. They studied and practiced the same law. Finally, both of them had been presidents of United States.  John Adams was the second president and Thomas Jefferson was the third one. Then, they both died on July 4, 1826. By the above details, I believed that you had already known why both of them are respected by the general public.

  Stephanie Brooks and Ann Friedman are both my best friends. It is a coincidence that they were born on the same date. Besides, they are alike in several ways. Stephanie Brooks is 160 centimeters height. Likewise, Ann Friedman is 160 centimeters height. They also have the same brown eye color. In addition, Stephanie Brooks’ hair color is black and so is Ann Friedman. Finally, both Stephanie Brooks and Ann Friedman come from Alabama State. So, I would not be surprised if I know they live in the same community or even they are neighbors. It is interesting, isn’t it?

  I would hire Lynn Whitnall for this job. First, although Lynn Whitnall has less education about English, she still had been the English instructor, so I think she has enough professional knowledge to take this job. Second, her experience is less than Debra Fines, but I think it is enough. Third, Lynn Whitnall is fluent in more languages than Debra Fines. Finally, she had got the Excellent in Teaching Award in 2004, but Debra Fines hadn't. So, I consider that she can teach better than Debra Fines. To sum, maybe Debra Fines knows more than Lynn Whitnall, but  I think teaching ways is of central importance. Thus, I choose Lynn Whitnall to be the English instructor.

  I have two dogs and they are alike in several ways. Ella's weight is the same as Judy. Besides, Ella's color of fur is similar to Judy as well. The main similarity is that both of them are friendly. Ella loves people, and so does Judy. In addition, both of them are smart and can do a lot of tricks. For example , Ella can stand on the ball. Similarly, Judy can stand on the ball. The most interesting thing is that they are both picky eaters. They only eat the most expensive dog food. Because of them, my life is full of joy and laugh every day. I really love them and can't live without them.

  Jordan and I are looking for an apartment to share near campus on the Net. We find two apartments meeting our main require but there are some differences between them. First of all, Fairfax Apartment has two large bedrooms, but CAMPUS APTS has only one bedroom . Unlike CAMPUS APTS, Fairfax Apartment is not only air conditioned but also furnished. In addition, pets are allowed in CAMPUS APTS. However, it is not allowed in Fairfax Apartment. Finally, Fairfax Apartment rents for $1250 a month, whereas CAMPUS APTS only rents for $900 a month. After considering for a while, we decide to choose Fairfax Apartment because it has enough bedrooms for us and we don't have to worry about the furnish. The most important result is that pets are not allowed in Fairfax Apartment, so we can have a quiet environment.

  Nowadays, more and more parents want to send their children to study English. Moreover, many universities and companies even take the ability of English as one of the most important entrance requirements. Why is English so important for us? There are some reasons below. To begin with, English is an international language. If people travel abroad and have to communicate with foreigners, it would be great to speak to them by English. Secondly, many researches and essays are written in English. We can get more knowledge if we can read in English. Finally, people who can speak more than one language gain more confidence and have more advantages. For instance, it is easier for them to find a job than those who can speak only Chinese. Since learning English has so many benefits, all of us should grab every opportunity to learn it.
