Why Is English Important?

  Nowadays, more and more parents want to send their children to study English. Moreover, many universities and companies even take the ability of English as one of the most important entrance requirements. Why is English so important for us? There are some reasons below. To begin with, English is an international language. If people travel abroad and have to communicate with foreigners, it would be great to speak to them by English. Secondly, many researches and essays are written in English. We can get more knowledge if we can read in English. Finally, people who can speak more than one language gain more confident and have some advantages. For instance, it is easier for them to find a job than those who can speak only Chinese.
